Suddenly there was a strange plop kind of sound, rather like the noise a cork makes being pulled out of a bottle. The mice suddenly felt very light and there was a shout of “Ya Hoo,” as Billy jumped from the side of the chimney. Of course as you can imagine the other mice who were still clinging to the side of the chimney had no idea what was going on and thought that Billy must have gone completely mad. But this was Billy’s moment!

As Billy fell downwards he tried to focus his eyes on the now tailless Herman, falling just ahead of him. It was very hard to see, as his eyes were full tears from the rushing air and soot. After all, how many mice have you heard of diving off a diving board, let alone the inside of a chimney! Luckily Billy could just make out Hermans features ahead of him and guessed that because he weighed more than a stuffed mouse he would soon catch up with Herman. His main thought was to try and grab hold of Herman before Herman hit the ground and completely fell apart. Then quite suddenly Billy crashed into Herman. Billy quickly came to his senses and managed to grab hold of Herman with his claws and that’s when the quite unexpected happened? Unless you were Billy that is!!
